Reviews

From Families Who Have Completed Sessions

LH

Lim Hui Shan

Ipoh, Perak

"We came in not knowing how to start the conversation. Two hours later we had a board on the wall and a list in our hands. Nobody told us what to decide — we just finally had everything in one place. That was what we needed."

AR

Ahmad Razif bin Ismail

Taiping, Perak

"The workbook process took ten weeks but that time was needed. By the fifth appointment, we had a schedule both sides understood and a costs section written in plain language. The six-month revision was useful too — things had shifted and we updated three sections."

Written Arrangements Workbook · May–July 2025

ST

Siti Nor binti Talib

Lumut, Perak

"I was concerned it would feel clinical, but it didn't. The coordinator was calm and kept things on track without steering. We did the mapping session first and then decided to go ahead with the workbook. The directory of professionals was genuinely helpful."

RK

Rajan Kumar

Ipoh, Perak

"We used the retainer for six months while working through a complicated household transition. The indexed document register meant we always knew where things stood. The handover pack at the end was more thorough than we expected."

Extended Retainer · January–June 2025

WY

Wong Yee Lin

Teluk Intan, Perak

"Useful session. We went in with a rough list of what we needed to sort out and came out with it properly mapped, with a strand list we could both refer to. I would have liked slightly more time on one section but overall it moved at a good pace."

NF

Nur Farida binti Azman

Batu Gajah, Perak

"The retainer gave our family a monthly structure when we needed one. The coordinator never pushed us in any direction — they simply kept us on track and produced clear minutes at the end of each conversation. The digital mirror they provided at close was well organised."

Extended Retainer · February–July 2025

How Families Used Each Format

Case Study 01 — Mapping Session Two adults, Ipoh · May 2025

Starting Point

Two adults from the same household needed to get a clear picture of which practical matters had been settled between them and which were still open. They had discussed things in fragments across several months but had no single record of where each item stood.

What Happened

In a single two-hour mapping session, they placed seven practical strands on the board. Four were marked settled. Three were marked open, with notes on what each needed next. The strand list was typed up and given to both participants before they left.

What Came Next

The family used the practitioner directory to contact a registered lawyer about one of the open items. The other two open strands they addressed independently using the strand list as a reference. No further Ravelknot sessions were needed.

"Having it all in one place made the next steps obvious." — participant
Case Study 02 — Written Arrangements Workbook Extended family, Taiping · March–May 2025

Starting Point

A family managing shared household costs and care schedules across two residences found that verbal agreements were not holding. There was no written record of who was responsible for what, and misunderstandings about shared costs were recurring.

What Happened

Over five appointments across ten weeks, the family built a workbook covering weekly schedules, shared cost allocations, and a simple communication protocol. The costs ledger was completed by the family in their own figures. By the end of the process, every strand was documented and reviewed.

What Came Next

The family returned for the facilitated revision meeting at the six-month mark and updated the cost figures and one schedule section. They reported that disagreements about shared costs had reduced significantly once the ledger existed as a shared reference point.

"The workbook is something we both agreed to and both signed. That made a real difference." — participant
Case Study 03 — Extended Retainer Multi-party household, Ipoh · January–June 2025

Starting Point

A household in transition involving three adults and several interconnected practical arrangements needed consistent structure over an extended period. They had a large number of documents spread across email and physical files and no clear timeline of how arrangements had developed over time.

What Happened

Over six months, monthly facilitated conversations were held and minuted. All documents were indexed clerically and a dated timeline was built from them. At no point did Ravelknot interpret documents or advise on their content. By month five the indexed register covered forty-three documents across six categories.

What Came Next

The retainer closed with a bound handover pack and a digital mirror. The practitioner directory was used to engage two registered professionals during the retainer period. The family retained the directory for future reference.

"The indexed register alone was worth it. We finally knew what we had and when each document came into existence." — participant
