Three Formats, One Approach — Arrangements Laid Out Plainly
Each Ravelknot format follows the same methodology: board, strands, settled and open items, document taken home. The formats differ in depth and duration to suit different household situations.
Back to HomeHow Every Ravelknot Session Works
Regardless of format, every Ravelknot session follows a consistent structure. The coordinator opens the board, invites participants to name their practical strands, and works through each one — marking items as settled, open, or requiring a registered professional to address. Nothing is interpreted; the words on the board are always the participants' own. At the close of each session, a document is produced and given to the family. Ravelknot keeps no copy for internal purposes beyond what is needed for continuity between appointments in multi-session formats.
Open the Board
Participants name their practical strands and place them on the board.
Mark Each Strand
Each item is marked settled, open, or referred — in the family's own words.
Close the Session
A summary document is produced and taken home by all participants.
Continue or Close
Families choose whether to return for further sessions or conclude at this point.
Situation Mapping Session
A two-hour session in which the family, guided by a coordinator, draws its practical arrangements as separate strands on a physical board, marking which are settled and which are open. It is a clarification exercise. No advice is given, no position is recommended, and nothing produced has any formal effect. Participants keep the photographed board, a typed strand list, and a directory of registered professionals should formal advice be wanted afterwards.
- Single two-hour appointment
- Photographed board taken home
- Typed strand list provided same day
- Practitioner directory for Perak included
- No follow-up commitment required
Session fee
RM 465
Best for families who
want to see the full picture before deciding next steps
Written Arrangements Workbook
A five-appointment process across ten weeks producing a written household workbook covering schedules, handovers, shared costs and communication norms, all authored by the family in its own words. The coordinator holds structure and time, not content. The workbook is private, unfiled and non-binding. Includes printed and editable templates, a costs ledger, a review protocol, and one facilitated revision meeting at the six-month mark.
- Five appointments across ten weeks
- Printed and editable workbook templates
- Costs ledger and schedule tracking
- Review protocol built in from the start
- One facilitated revision meeting at six months
Full process fee
RM 1,940
Best for families who
need a working document they can revisit and update
Extended Facilitation & Records Retainer
A six-month retainer combining monthly facilitated conversations with an indexed register of the family's own documents and a dated timeline built from them. Every session is minuted neutrally; every document is filed clerically. No interpretation, no advice, no representation, no communication in anyone's name. The retainer closes with a bound handover pack, a digital mirror on the family's storage, and a practitioner directory covering Perak and the northern states.
- Monthly facilitated conversations for six months
- Indexed register of family documents
- Dated timeline built from documents
- Neutral session minutes provided throughout
- Bound handover pack and digital mirror at close
- Practitioner directory for Perak & northern states
Six-month retainer
RM 4,170
Best for families who
have layered arrangements requiring ongoing structure
Choosing the Right Format
All three formats follow the same methodology and produce documents for the family. The main differences are time commitment, depth of output, and whether ongoing support is included.

What Every Ravelknot Session Has in Common
Privacy Protection
Session content is not shared with any third party without written consent. Ravelknot holds session notes only as needed for coordination continuity.
Strict Neutrality
No coordinator at Ravelknot takes sides, recommends an outcome, or communicates on behalf of any participant. The scope boundary notice is given in writing before every session.
Family-Owned Documents
All outputs — board photographs, strand lists, workbook pages, session minutes — belong to the family. Ravelknot produces no document that has any formal legal or financial effect.
Written Session Briefs
The scope and structure of each session is agreed in writing with participants beforehand. No content is introduced by the coordinator — the agenda is set by the family.
Practitioner Referral Directory
All formats include a directory of registered professionals in Perak and the northern states. The directory is maintained without commercial relationships — no listings are paid for.
Data Handling Compliance
Personal information collected is processed in line with Malaysian personal data protection obligations. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Not Sure Which Format Fits?
A brief conversation with a coordinator is usually enough to work out which session type would suit the family's situation. There is no commitment involved in reaching out.
